Oxygen's latest reality show, The Prancing Elites Project, follows the eponymous five-member, Alabama-based dance troupe comprised mostly of gay, black men as they try to make their way as entertainers. As you can imagine: It's not easy! Not only do they have to practice, they have to suffer the ignorance of a general public. Sometimes, this also means having to deal with familial expectations. In this exclusive clip, one of the dancers, Adrian, asks his mom if she can come to the first competition they're hosting. She's never been to one of his performances, and he says, "If I could get one wish, I would want my mom to see me perform." Grab your tissues.
The Prancing Elites Project airs Wednesdays at 10 p.m. on Oxygen.
