Guillermo del Toro is courting Ryan Gosling to star in his Haunted Mansion project for Disney, TheWrap reports. The film has been in development for years (news of its existence was first dropped in 2010 at Comic-Con). Del Toro claims it's supposed to be a scary version of the movie, not like the super family-oriented Eddie Murphy version from 2003 (keep in mind this is coming from the same guy who said his stop-motion Pinocchio project was going to be super dark, too). "If you take the children, they will scream," del Toro said at Comic-Con, according to Variety. The best part of this story, though, is the reminder that on Oscar weekend del Toro and Gosling spent time at Disneyland. They rode the Haunted Mansion (obviously), as well as Space Mountain, Thunder Mountain, and Pirates of the Caribbean. All that to say, there must be some pretty fantastic mid-ride photos floating around somewhere.
