According to Variety, Eddie Redmayne has gone from “maybe” starring in the Harry Potter spinoff Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them to almost certainly starring in the Harry Potter spinoff Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. He’ll play “magiczoologist” Newt Scamander in the upcoming trilogy, which is set in New York City 70 years before the rest of the Harry Potter series. Redmayne is of course the perfect choice to play someone named Newt Scamander, as he is a very handsome human man who also looks slightly like a very handsome lizard.
