Stephen Colbert Just Became Oprah for South Carolina Teachers

Christmas came early for South Carolina teachers: Stephen Colbert announced today that he would fund every existing grant request made by a South Carolina public school teacher on DonorsChoose.org, in part from the money he earned from selling off swag from The Colbert Report. That works out to 1,000 projects for more than 800 teachers at over 375 schools. Colbert made the announcement in a video to students at Alexander Elementary School in Greenville.
