Meet the 8 Characters in Sense8

We don’t know much about the Wachowski siblings’ Netflix project Sense8, other than that it’s cosmopolitan in scope and sci-fi in its sensibility. The show boasts an international cast of characters, including “a closeted Mexican telenovela hunk, an Icelandic party girl, a German safe-cracker, a Korean businesswoman, an African bus driver and a transgender American blogger” who are telepathically connected so that they can think, feel, and know what the other seven knew. Basically, they are like the United Colors of Benetton version of the Borg. Realizing that this is a lot of people to keep track of, Netflix has a nice one-minute primer on each of them: It turns out the Mexican telenovela actor Lito is indeed gay and a hunk!

Will, the Chicago cop who’s definitely a good guy, played by Brian J. Smith:

Nomi, the trans female blogger with mommy issues, played by Jamie Clayton:

Wolfgang, the German safecracker, played by Max Riemelt:

Kala, the Indian woman about to get married (womp womp), played by Tina Desai:

Capheus, the Nairobi bus driver who’s a very good son, played by Aml Ameen:

Sun, the badass businesswoman, played by Doona Bae:

Lito, the telenovela hunk, played by Miguel Ángel Silvestre:

Riley, the party girl in London, played by Tuppence Middleton:
