In the latest round of How to Get Bill Cosby Into a Courtroom?, a subpoena was sent to a Philadelphia lawyer to blow the lid off confidential material from the comedian’s Temple University–related lawsuit. The AP reports that Cosby’s lawyers moved to block the subpoena Tuesday, arguing that court confidentiality agreements “should not be set aside lightly.” The subpoena comes from Tamara Green & Co.’s camp; they claim documents from the Temple suit could help them mount their defamation counterattack. Defense lawyer George M. Gowen has reportedly asked the Temple suit’s corresponding Pennsylvania court to wait for a judge to rule on Cosby’s bid to quash the defamation case, and to challenge any material that would be unsealed. The motion was filed in Philadelphia federal court and awaits a decision. Cosby has not been criminally charged.
