Hilary Duff’s new album, Breathe In. Breathe Out., is out this week, and as a bonus to the fans she will basically jump through rings of fire for, she filmed a lovely acoustic performance of the new song “Tattoo” in her very own backyard. Joined only by a guitarist and a microphone, Duff wears her emotions on her sleeve as she quietly sings about a painful breakup. “It’s a really heartfelt, honest song about getting burned and not feeling appreciated in a relationship, and the marks you get left with at the end,” she tells Vulture. “I wanted to share a really stripped-down version of the song to give people an idea what the song is about.” Watch the exclusive video premiere below, and then go listen to the full album because it is great.
