On Monday morning, Tracy Morgan gave his first interview since the 2014 car crash that claimed the life of his close friend and left him in a coma. Speaking on the Today show with Matt Lauer, a visibly shaken and tearful Morgan says he has no memory of the accident, and only found out his friend James McNair was killed in the crash when he came out of a coma. Since then, he says he spent days watching footage of the accident on YouTube. Explaining that he still experiences memory loss and nosebleeds, Morgan also told Lauer that he’s not ready to get back to performing: “I’m not 100 percent yet. And when I’m there, you’ll know it. I’ll get back to making you laugh, I promise you.” Last week, Walmart settled Morgan’s lawsuit over the accident.
