Mendelsohn’s character can’t catch a break, can’t go home empty-handed, and definitely can’t stop betting. That unfortunate combo is just swell for us because it means we essentially get to watch a gambling Danny Rayburn team up with Ryan Reynolds’s best poker face to make bad decisions all throughout the South. Cha-ching. Directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck, Mississippi Grind (which was one of our big Sundance films to know) also has Sienna Miller, Alfre Woodard, and Analeigh Tipton, and hits theaters September 25.
