Def Jam Records cofounder Russell Simmons and Broken Lizard are teaming up for a new comedy at HBO. According to Deadline, Simmons has signed a development deal with the pay-network, and among the projects he has in the works is The Broken Lizard Show, which will star the comedy troupe and “take an innovative and comedic look at race when, hundreds of years in the future, a space ship exploring the galaxy discovers the last white man in the universe.” In addition to The Broken Lizard Show, Simmons is also developing a hip-hop comedy called These Are My Friends and a Def Comedy Jam 25th Anniversary Special.
