Jeb Bush and Kendrick Lamar Join the Lineup of Stephen Colbert’s First ‘Late Show’

Last week, Stephen Colbert revealed that George Clooney will be a guest on his debut episode of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert on September 8th, and this week he announced some other guests who will appear in the episode. Republican presidential candidate Jeb Bush is also confirmed to appear on the show, while Kendrick Lamar – who performed on The Colbert Report last year – will be Late Show’s first musical guest. Colbert also said at TCA yesterday that “Real Stephen” isn’t so different from his Colbert Report alter-ego:

“I had the excuse that I didn’t mean it, but I’m here to tell you I meant a lot of it. … I even agreed with my character sometimes. My hope is when people see me on the new show they will say ‘Oh wow, a lot of it was him the whole time!’”

Still, Colbert said he won’t be as “actively ignorant” as his former TV persona and that he’s excited to interview guests “without having to translate it through an idiot’s mouth.” Watch the latest round of Late Show promos here.
