Steven Sheerer, 25, was arrested on Friday evening at his home in Barnegat, New Jersey, for his "inappropriate communications" with 17-year-old Chelsea O'Donnell, whom he met on Tinder, according to the Associated Press. He faces charges of child endangerment and distribution of obscenity to a minor. "He was involved with a minor, and Rosie's concern has been and always will be the health, safety and well-being of her daughter," Rosie O'Donnell's spokesperson Cindi Berger told the AP. "Rosie is profoundly appreciative for the work the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office has done and the diligence of the local police."
The younger O'Donnell went missing on August 11, after disappearing from the New York City suburb of Nyack in Rockland County. She was found about 130 miles south of her home a week later. Sheerer previously pled guilty to drug offenses in separate cases in 2012 and 2013. In each case, he was sentenced to two years of probation.
