For his final monologue on The Daily Show, it was only fitting for Jon Stewart to explore news media’s favorite tactic: bullshit. His closing speech provided a perfect representation of what Stewart has stood for for the past 16 years, summarizing his Daily Show’s ethos (much like Conan’s Tonight Show farewell speech about avoiding cynicism summed up his own guiding principles) while referencing bullshit of the everyday and institutionalized varieties. He even managed to work in a reference to the disses being tossed back and forth between Drake and Meek Mill.
So, take a good, long sniff, and remember: The best offense against bullshit is vigilance.
