The Man Booker Prize announced its short list just a few days ago, which means it’s time for its Yankee brethren, the National Book Award, to jump into the game with its long list. The one book that made it on both? A Little Life, by Hanya Yanagihara, who spoke to Vulture about the process of writing the book. The NBA fiction short list will be released October 14, with the winners themselves announced on November 18.
