Paul Feig’s Ghostbusters reboot starring Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Leslie Jones, and Kate McKinnon just added two more original cast members. Vulture reports that Ernie Hudson and Annie Potts have both signed on to make cameo appearances in the film, joining previously announced cameos from Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd. Potts will reportedly appear as a hotel clerk, and Hudson’s role has not been revealed. Apparently Feig has decided to throw Hudson a bone despite him giving this less than supportive statement on the project last year:
“I love females. I hope that if they go that way at least they’ll be funny, and if they’re not funny at least hopefully it’ll be sexy. I love the idea of including women, I think that’s great. But all-female I think would be a bad idea. I don’t think the fans want to see that.”
Hudson has since reversed his stance on the film, presumably because the women are sexy enough and/or he realized that saying terrible things about the movie wouldn’t exactly help his odds of getting the chance to cameo.
