NBC reports that Kanye will perform songs from his latest album, Swish, at a fund-raiser for the Democratic National Committee at the Warfield in San Francisco on October 10. There are two obvious, extremely important reasons why this reconnaissance is crucial for Kanye West’s exploratory committee. He’ll be able to meet big Democratic Party donors and see how they feel about supporting a candidate who really relates to the elf in that movie Elf. More important, President Obama will also be in attendance, which is perfect timing, because we all know that it’s never too early to start working on garnering big endorsements.
