Time to Get Ready for South Park’s Season Premiere; It Involves Caitlyn Jenner and Some Deflategate

South Park returns this week for its 19th season of pop-culture skewering and lampooning. According to Comedy Central, the premiere will likely not ease you back into the hilarious, subversive, and sometimes cringe-worthy universe of Matt Stone and Trey Parker. Rather, it will be more like a cannonball, as the opener, titled “Stunning and Brave,” promises to involve Caitlyn Jenner (missed opportunity for an “I Am Cart” episode) and Tom Brady’s Deflategate scandal. It’s unclear how those two will figure in the episode, but it’s a stressful thought as many comedians have already crashed and burned trying to poke fun at Cait (Bill Burr and D.L. Hughley, for instance).

“The boys express respect for Caitlyn,” Comedy Central teased in a release. “There is a new principal at the helm of South Park Elementary. He forces the boys to confront the damage they’ve done through their history of racism and unconscious bias. It is the most stunning and brave South Park ever.” (Deadline posted an image of a very injured Cartman and a very concerned Kyle — if you can believe the latter.)

Wednesday at 10 p.m. feels like an eternity away, but, trust us, you’ll want to make good use of tomorrow to get back into the merciless, equal-opportunity-offending SP mindset. In other words: Be ready for anything.
