Trevor Noah’s premiere week as host of The Daily Show is here. With it comes a promise to continue Jon Stewart’s war on bullshit — as well as many winks and laughs. “Growing up in the dusty streets of South Africa, I never dreamed that I would one day have, well, two things, really,” he began. “An indoor toilet and a job as host of The Daily Show. Now I have both, and I’m quite comfortable with one of them.”
The initial chunk of Noah’s first date with America (watch above) also included updates on the pope, an explainer on Speaker of the House John Boehner’s resignation, and, of course, more self-deprecating jabs. (He even addressed the lack of women on late-night shows!) Looks like he’s already having lots of fun:
