After replacing How I Met Your Mother’s Neil Patrick Harris in Hedwig and the Angry Inch last year, Broadway reports that Andrew Rannells (The Book of Mormon, Girls) is continuing his hobby of filling in for gay TV leads on Broadway. Rannells will step into the role of King George in Lin-Manuel Miranda’s musical Hamilton while Jonathan Groff films the Looking movie. Groff himself first joined the cast last winter, replacing Brian d’Arcy James. Ranells will be seen in the role from October 27 through November 29. Groff returns to Hamilton on December 1. Listen to Groff sing “You’ll Be Back” below, because why not.
