As if Tarantino's auteur universe weren't fulfilling enough for her, Jennifer Jason Leigh has successfully infiltrated the world of Mr. Surrealist himself, David Lynch, and has joined Showtime's upcoming Twin Peaks revival. (Man, with this, Hateful 8, and the upcoming Charlie Kaufman stop-motion film Anomalisa, we're about to be in a Leighnaissance.) As reported by Deadline, Leigh was spotted shooting a scene with Kyle MacLachlan (Agent Dale Cooper–cum–Bob Doppelgänger) earlier this week in the Mojave Desert, where Sheryl Lee (Laura Palmer) was also present on set.
As the revival has been kept under immense secrecy, the casting has not been officially confirmed by the network or Lynch, nor has the involvement of any other actors except MacLachlan. Deadline mentions that Lynch has been trying to wrangle well-known actors like Naomi Watts, whom he famously worked with on Mulholland Drive. Sure, but where's Lara Flynn Boyle? What about Sherilyn Fenn? Damnit, Lynch, give us something! Gordon Cole, for starters (excuse us, FOR STARTERS).
