Jessica Williams Found an Effort-Free Way to Report on National Tragedies on ‘The Daily Show’

Here’s a great clip from last night’s Daily Show with correspondent Jessica Williams, who found a way to keep filing reports on national tragedies in the United States while putting forth the least amount of effort possible. Thanks to what she calls the “five stages of mass shooting grief,” Williams points out how fickle the media can be before and after tragedies like last week’s shooting in Oregon, and she’s tired of saying the same thing on The Daily Show over and over when she could just pre-record future segments ahead of time. “I’m sick of having to do my job when our leaders won’t do theirs,” she tells Trevor Noah, “so a while back I figured out that I could just pre-record my reports and then roll them in whenever stuff like this happens. I got a whole mess of them in the can!”
