Kevin James is combining his experience playing a cop in the Paul Blart movies and family man in King of Queens for a brand new project at CBS. Variety reports that the network has given a 13-episode production commitment to an untitled comedy starring James as “as a retired cop who looks forward to spending more time with his wife and three kids, only to find himself in more trouble than he faced on the streets.” James will co-write with Rock Reuben (King of Queens) and Bruce Helford (Anger Management), who will also co-executive produce. The series is slated for sometime during the 2016-2017 season.
