Rihanna is joining the cast of Luc Besson’s Valérian and the City of a Thousand Planets, a film adaptation of the French sci-fi comic Valérian and Laureline. The director announced the news on Instagram, promising that she has a “big part” and that he’s “Sooo excited!!!” It’s not clear what role she’ll play, but she joins Cara Delevingne as Laureline, Dane DeHaan as Valerian, and Clive Owen as Commander Arün Filitt. In the original comic, Valérian and Laureline are agents who defend earth by traveling through the space-time continuum. Of course, this isn’t Rihanna’s first acting gig. She voiced the lead character Tip in the animated movie Home, and she memorably said multiple lines in Battleship.
