Todd Holland and ‘30 Rock’s Colleen McGuinness Developing ‘The Homefront’ Comedy for ABC

Director/producer Todd Holland and former 30 Rock writer Colleen McGuinness are teaming up for a new comedy at ABC. Deadline reports that the two are developing a half-hour single-cam comedy for the network called The Homefront, which is described as “Everybody Loves Raymond meets American Sniper.” The show is loosely based on McGuinness’s father and “centers on a retired Green Beret who comes back to the U.S. and moves near his grown daughter and grandkids, only to find that it’s easier to face death every day than to live in the suburbs.” Both Holland and McGuinness will serve as executive producers, with McGuinness writing the script and Holland onboard to direct. McGuinness has another show in the works at FX co-executive produced by Matt Damon and Ben Affleck.
