The holidays can be a drag: All the same faces at all the same parties. There are no new faces! as Joan Didion would say. But sometimes there’s a rare moment, when the streets are slick and shiny and you’re sitting in an Uber, when New York wraps you back up in its spell. You think maybe you can meet someone new, after all. Maybe they are the creative soul mate you’ve been waiting for. If that happens, be sure to say hi to them at the next party.
