Bill Hader and Ben Schwartz Have a Special Role in the New ‘Star Wars’ Movie


Star Wars: The Force Awakens officially opens in theaters this Friday, and if you’d like a comedy-related spoiler, HitFix discovered that one of the film’s characters was co-developed, in part, by none other than Bill Hader and Ben Schwartz. According to the film’s credits, both Hader and Schwartz worked as “vocal consultants” for the new droid BB-8, and Hader explained what the role entailed to HitFix: “JJ [Abrams) f**king around with this sound effects app on his iPad that was attached to a talk box operated by me,” he revealed. “It looked ridiculous but it made BB-8’s voice. At first I tried doing a voice, but we all agreed it sounded too human.”
