In an interview with Vulture, writer/director Nancy Meyers said, “Over the years, it’s been hard to get male movie stars to be in a movie if a woman’s the lead, where a great, great movie star, a woman, will be in a movie where the man’s the lead. So there’s just not parity there, we’re not on equal footing.” Well, we’re glad Chris Pine is taking a step in the right direction with his role in Wonder Woman, where he’ll play the love interest of Wonder Woman herself, Gal Gadot. Pine told Total Film, “I think in the world today we’ve had plenty enough of male-driven everything. It’s finally time to see how wonderful the world can be with beautiful, strong, intelligent women kicking some major ass.” We’re pretty sure Pine doesn’t want the focus to be on him, so let’s just quit here. Wonder Woman, starring Gal Gadot, will hit theaters June 23, 2017.
