In the most awkward fancy-dress-related experience since Carrie went to the prom, Steve Harvey ended the the 2015 Miss Universe pageant last night by crowning the wrong winner. After announcing that Miss Colombia, Ariadna Gutiérrez, had won, Harvey had to interrupt the event to apologize and give the crown to the pageant's actual winner, Miss Philippines, Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach. "I have to apologize," Harvey said, as Las Vegas fell more silent than that time they set off a fake bomb in Ocean's Eleven. "This is exactly what was on the card. I take full responsibility for this."
The resulting beautiful awkwardness has been documented on Twitter, Vine, and everywhere memes are made.

Harvey apologized on Twitter, though in his first attempt at an apology, the Family Feud host misspelled the winner and runner-up's countries of origin.
