A Lorne Michaels Biography Is in the Works from Susan Morrison

There are plenty of books out there for SNL fans, and now there’s a new one to look forward to: an authorized biography of Lorne Michaels. According to The New York Times, Random House has acquired a biography of Michaels, which will be written by New Yorker editor and former assistant to Jim Downey Susan Morrison. “In the ’70s, Lorne noticed that while movies and music had kept pace with the counterculture, television was still square,” Morrison said on the news. “With SNL, he changed that: suddenly television could be smart and hip, transgressive.” A title or release date for the book have yet to be announced, but Morrison revealed that Michaels gave her his blessing to write the biography and she’s been speaking with him and those who know him “for several months.”
