For anyone who thought Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker)'s marriage to Mr. Big (Chris Noth) was a betrayal of what the show was about, you're not alone. In a recent Kindle Singles interview, series creator Darren Starr said that, in his prime position, he had to give up some power if he wanted the writer's room to be a collaborative environment. "At a certain point, you've got to let [the writers] follow their vision. … But I think the show ultimately betrayed what it was about, which was that women don't ultimately find happiness from marriage. Not that they can't. But the show initially was going off script from the romantic comedies that had come before it. That's what had made women so attached."
We guess he's Team Manolo Blahnik, then.
