“I live for furs, I worship furs,” Emma Stone might soon say, as THR reports the actress is in talks to star in Cruella. The live-action Disney flick focuses on the villainess from 101 Dalmatians (à la 2014’s Maleficent), with a script coming from Kelly Marcel (Fifty Shades of Grey). Aline Brosh McKenna (The Devil Wears Prada) worked on an earlier version of the project, slated to be an origin story: Will the puppy-obsessed character’s descent into depravity be the result of a scarring fashion internship? Unbeatable halitosis? Or did someone from PETA just double-cross her? Although Cruella doesn’t yet have a director, Disney reportedly wants filming to start later this year, meaning there’s still a bit of a wait till we can learn exactly why and how Cruella became the animal kingdom’s notorious devil woman, the spider waiting for the kill.
