Because it's filmed in the greatest city in the wooooooooorld, Law & Order: SVU is a handy way for Broadway stars to stretch their TV muscles in between shows, and the cast of Hamilton is no exception. In SVU's New York, Aaron Burr is an unscrupulous reverend, while Angelica Schuyler is a lawyer. (Hamilton himself sticks to medical shows.) Next week's episode, "41 Witnesses," counts as an unofficial Hamilton Act I reunion, with the Marquis de Lafayette (Daveed Diggs, reprising his role as defense counsel Louis Henderson) guest-starring alongside John Laurens (Anthony Ramos, an SVU newcomer) in an episode partly inspired by the Kitty Genovese case. (Hercules Mulligan, presumably, is away making some pants.) Ramos plays a young man accused of rape, while Diggs is the attorney for one of his alleged accomplices. He looks like quite a lawyer — will his defendants get acquitted?
See a first look at both Ramos and Diggs in the episode below.
