NBC Orders Comedy Pilots from Amy Poehler, Charlie Grandy, Rashida Jones, and More

NBC recently ordered a round of new comedy pilots, including new projects from Amy Poehler, Charlie Grandy, and Rashida Jones. According to Deadline, the network has ordered an untitled comedy about a royal family by Charlie Grandy produced by Amy Poehler, a procedural comedy by Jeff Astrof and Matt Miller called The Trail, and a multi-cam ensemble comedy by Rashida Jones and Will McCormack called Good Fortune.

Poehler and Grandy’s pilot will center on a “reluctant Crown Prince” who, “after years of partying that earned him the ‘black sheep’ label, returns home to compete with his brother for the family throne.” The Trail will take on a serialized format in the style of The Jinx and center on “a young big-city lawyer and his oddball defense team during a high profile murder trial in a small southern town.” Jones and McCormack’s Good Fortune is written by How I Met Your Mother’s Matt Zinman and Craig Gerard and centers on “a hyper-structured young woman whose life is upended when she starts taking advice from a mysterious fortune teller.”
