True fans of the first World War Z film will not be disappointed, because it’s turning out the sequel is almost as much of a mess as the first one. World War Z 2 (or, as it’s known among industry hot-shots, The Zequel) has lost its director, J.A. Bayona, over concerns about time constraints, Deadline reports. Bayona apparently needed more time to wrap up his adaptation of A Monster Calls, but the studio is still set on releasing WWZ2 on June 9, 2017. And so, sayonara, Bayona: Paramount released a statement Tuesday saying, “Bayona is no longer able to make World War Z 2 this year, and it is our ambition to do so. He is a wonderful director and we hope to work with him soon.” A hunt for the new director begins! How exciting! How will they find him or her? We’ve got an idea: Directing duties should be passed off to the Powerball winner. Yes, that’s right. You will win $1.5 billion, plus a job directing World War Z 2. Got a better idea? We didn’t think so.
