Bruce Springsteen to Write Autobiography, Born to Run, Though All of His Song Titles Would Work, Which Is Very Satisfying

Bruce Springsteen announced today that his autobiography, Born to Run, is due out September 27, though you have to think Born in the U.S.A. or Glory Days came in a close second and third. “Writing about yourself is a funny business,” the 20-time Grammy winner writes in the book. “But in a project like this, the writer has made one promise, to show the reader his mind. In these pages, I’ve tried to do this.” In the memoir, Springsteen looks back at his childhood amid the “poetry, danger, and darkness” of Freehold, New Jersey. The singer/songwriter delves into his early days as a bar musician in Asbury Park and the formation of the E Street Band, giving an in-depth look at Springsteen’s time on Thunder Road and exploring the Badlands while Dancing in the Dark, all the while hoping beyond hope that Santa Claus Is Coming to Town. See? They literally all work.
