You have to be a hardy soul to film a show like The Walking Dead, full of constant death and destruction. Lauren Cohan, who plays Maggie with steadiness and warmth, almost reached her breaking point during the third season, when her character had to perform an emergency C-section. When she read the script, she sought her onscreen husband, Steven Yeun (Glenn!), to talk it over. “I knock on Steven’s door, and I said, ‘I have to leave the show. I don’t think I can do it,’” Cohan said on Inside the Actor’s Studio. “It affects you so deeply to the core to dive into so much of this material.” The most important part of this anecdote, though, is that the actors all live next to each other in an “incestuous” situation.
