Remember when everybody briefly got to be the Weeknd last night? Confusing person Stacey Dash published a vlog post Monday to address her confusing Oscars appearance and to tackle some of the immediate backlash she received. “There are a lot of people that don’t agree with me, and have a lot of very mean things to say, which, I will never live down,” the “new director of [the Academy’s] minority outreach program” explains in her pre-recorded vid. “But here’s the thing: I do what I do, because I want to do it, and because I believe in it, and it has nothing to do with race. And I wish you would stop saying that.”
Dash also takes a page out of Jimmy Kimmel’s book by reading a handful of mean tweets from the night. (“I was hoping there was a trap door on stage,” wrote one detractor. “You sucked on the Oscars like you do on @foxnews pointless,” wrote another.) As for more on what that inside joke was all about?
