Here’s the setup for The Night Manager, the AMC–BBC One adaptation of the John le Carré thriller of the same title: Tom Hiddleston plays Jonathan Pine, a former British soldier and current thirst trap who is out for revenge against criminal kingpin Richard Onslow Roper (played by Hugh Laurie) for killing the woman he loved. In this scene from the premiere episode, airing April 19 on AMC, British intelligence officer Angela Burr (Olivia Colman, from Peep Show!) recruits Pine to go under deep cover into Roper’s criminal empire to bring him down. He contemplates this offer with piercingly blue eyes.
