Tony Danza is returning to television in NBC’s new Greg Garcia comedy Sebastian. The multi-cam sitcom is named after Danza’s co-lead, Sebastian Maniscalco, who plays Danza’s son and finds the old-school values Dad instilled in him clashing with his wife, family, and “the absurdities of the modern world,” according to Deadline. Danza will play the role of the “opinionated Italian father,” who surely has strong ideas about red sauce and the use of emoji. Sebastian marks Danza’s first major TV comedy role in nearly two decades, since 1997’s short-lived The Tony Danza Show. Danza also, of course, famously starred as Tony Banta on Taxi and Tony Micelli on Who’s the Boss?. No word yet on whether Danza’s character in Sebastian will also be named Tony.
