Lady Gaga’s Performance of ‘Til It Happens to You’ Was a Powerful Show of Solidarity for Survivors of Sexual Assault

Lady Gaga is having an incredible February: She gave a dizzying tribute to David Bowie at the Grammys, slayed the national anthem at the Super Bowl, and now has performed "Til It Happens to You" — her song about sexual assault co-written with Diane Warren for The Hunting Ground — at the Oscars.

Toward the end of the performance, a number of sexual-assault survivors joined her onstage in a powerful show of strength and solidarity. Gaga and Warren might have lost the Oscar for Best Original Song, but this is the performance that history will remember.
