Ridley Scott already made a movie about an astronaut stranded on Mars, so now he’s going to make a TV show about sailors stranded in the Canadian Arctic: AMC on Wednesday announced it had green-lit The Terror, a new horror anthology series executive-produced by Scott. It’s based on the 2007 book by Dan Simmons, which postulated that, instead of dying of pneumonia and lead poisoning, the men of the doomed Franklin expedition of 1845 were instead eaten by a monster. David Kajganich and Soo Hugh will serve as showrunners, so if this show gives you nightmares, you’ll know who to blame.
