Craig Ferguson to Star in NBC Game Show/Multi-Cam Pilot ‘Crunch Time’

Last month, NBC ordered a game show/multi-cam comedy hybrid pilot called Crunch Time, and today the network revealed the main cast. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Craig Ferguson has signed on to star in the series, which “intercuts between a real game show and the scripted workplace that centers on an up-and-coming producer trying to wrangle the volatile host.” Ferguson will play Crunch Time host and successful standup Toby, whose “career as an actor stalled and he’s turning to the game show to take his career to the next level. A nice guy on-camera, off-camera he struggles with feeling too good for his job and not good enough at it.” In addition to Ferguson, Kyle Howard will play Crunch Time head writer and “hipster playwright” Jake, while Kellee Stewart will play Marcelle, “Emily’s (Crunch Time’s showrunner) best friend and confidant who is head of the game show contestants and always discovering the next great contestant.”
