Drew Barrymore and Timothy Olyphant are set to star in the Netflix comedy series Santa Clarita Diet. Coming from Victor Fresco, the series centers around Barrymore and Olyphant as husband and wife realtors in the L.A. suburb of Santa Clarita, who live “vaguely discontented lives” until Barrymore’s Sheila goes through a drastic change that brings them “death and destruction … but in a good way.” So Santa Clarita Diet is maybe about how everyone in shows starring disillusioned white married people has been dead inside this whole time. Barrymore and Olyphant are also both onboard as executive producers for the 2017 project, because the couple that works together stays together, especially if that couple is played by two people who also work together.
