Ghosts are not, in fact, real, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t a ton of real science behind the new Ghostbusters movie. A new behind-the-scenes featurette introduces fans to the film’s resident Particle Physicist, James Maxwell, who was on hand to advise the writers about making the science seem as real as possible. In the video, Maxwell explains that there is real science behind proton-packs. He also made sure that all the equations scrawled on whiteboards and paper across the film set actually made sense, science-wise. Say what you will about the Ghostbusters reboot, you officially can’t say that the science doesn’t check out.
