Despite the fact that it killed off most of its main characters the first time around, The Kennedys, the cursed historical mini-series that eventually aired on Reelz, is getting a sequel — and it’s landed Matthew Perry. Deadline reports Perry has signed on to play Ted Kennedy in next year’s The Kennedys: After Camelot, based on the book by by J. Randy Taraborrelli. The four-hour mini-series will follow the family’s fortunes in the years after 1969, with the former Friend joining Katie Holmes, who is reprising her role as Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis. Jackie and Ted’s relationship will be the focus of the series, as the pair “[grow] ever closer as they [turn] to each other for support.” After all, no one told them their lives were going to be this way.
