According to Deadline, Oscar-winning director Alfonso Cuarón has offered his services to Andy Serkis as the latter completes his upcoming Jungle Book movie. While production on the film is over, Warner Bros. has pushed its release back to October 2018. In the meantime, the Gravity director has come onboard to “give notes on the project and see if there are ways to take the extra time to improve the picture.” In addition to directing, Serkis is co-starring as Baloo the bear. Knowing how deeply immersed he can get as a performance capture artist, Cuarón probably just stopped in to offer him suggestions like don’t claw open the cameras looking for honeycomb, don’t fall into a months-long hibernation in the edit bay, don’t fly into a rage trying to defend your cubs and knock over all the crafty. That kind of stuff.
