Australia’s Deputy Prime Minister Has Some Pointers for Johnny Depp and Amber Heard’s Next Apology Video

After digesting Johnny Depp and Amber Heard’s forced dog-smuggling apology, Aussie deputy PM Barnaby Joyce realized he had acting tips to share. The politician initially wrote on his Facebook that the couple’s 42-second video, which addressed Australian immigration laws for Heard’s trial, was important because the “consequences of a disease outbreak [in the #WarOnTerrier] could have been terrifying.” But in a series of early-morning interviews — one can be found above, via The Guardian (more here) — Joyce encouraged the actor to apologize with more gusto next time. “I think he’s auditioning for The Godfather,” he quipped. “He’s very good at playing every person, except Johnny Depp.” And so it goes, Depp will have to wait another year to win the Academy Award for Best Actor in a Live-Action Biosecurity Short.
