Beyoncé Teases ‘Lemonade’ Premiere on HBO, Doing Her Best to Snatch Next Weekend Away From Game of Thrones

Ever since the release of “Formation” back in February, we’ve known that Beyoncé has been up to something for months. On April 23 at 9 p.m. on HBO, we’ll find out what that is — or at least part of it, or at least whatever “Lemonade” is. Beyoncé released a teaser for the “world premiere event” of “Lemonade” on Instagram today, with the words “what am I gonna do, love, what am I gonna do?” Is this the long-speculated new album? A new music video? God help us, a new activewear line? One thing is certain: Game of Thrones is premiering next weekend, but Beyoncé just did to Jon Snow what she already did to Chris Martin at the Super Bowl.

For whatever it’s worth, Beyoncé has been posing with lemons on Instagram for months. Don’t say she didn’t warn you.

Update: Thanks to the private investigators over at Beyoncé Legion, we now know that Lemonade will run for an hour, according to HBO’s schedule. Interestingly, it’s replacing HBO’s premiere of Jurassic World, which was originally slated for 8 p.m. and has now been moved up to 7 p.m. Because even the dinosaurs bow down to Bey.

An HBO exec also tells USA Today that Lemonade will be a “docu-style special” similar to Beyoncé’s 2014 HBO doc Life Is But a Dream.
