Fox Orders 10 Episodes of Mockumentary Series ‘Famous’

A new comedy series is headed to Fox this summer. Variety reports that the network has ordered 10 episodes of Famous, a half-hour mockumentary series from Ralph Farquhar (Real Husbands of Hollywood, Moesha) and Ty Hodges (A Girl Like Grace) that centers on a couple whose relationship gets put to the test after one of them becomes instantly famous. The series’ mockumentary style will be set at a couples therapy session and follow “high school teachers Fred and Geneva, who are dating. Both secretly aspire to work in Hollywood: He wants to be a screenwriter, and she wants to be a pop diva, and one of those dreams miraculously comes true when Geneva lands a record deal after her first music video goes viral. But, as she rises to stardom, he feels pushed to the sidelines.” Fox hasn’t yet announced the cast for the show, but it already has a premiere date: Sunday, June 12th at 9:00pm.
