Louis C.K. on ‘Louie’: ‘I Can’t Feel That Show Anymore’

Now that all ten episodes of Louis C.K.’s self-released series Horace and Pete are out, HitFix published a glowing, comprehensive review of the show that features some quotes C.K. sent over email, and it’s not the best news for fans hoping for more Louie episodes sooner than later:

It turned out to be, for me, the best thing I ever made. It may be because Louie feels very far in the past. I can’t feel that show anymore. But I am drenched in the feelings that this show and making this show gave me and revealed for me. And the feelings I have for the characters and the fine people who played them and the crew that executed the show for me with such care. I am terribly sad that it’s over and bracing for whatever wild feelings will follow in its absence from my daily efforts.

FX CEO John Landgraf revealed back in August that C.K. was taking an “extended hiatus” from Louie to work on other projects, and eight months later, Horace and Pete is racking up critical acclaim and now a potential 2016 Emmy contender in the drama category. Hopefully this doesn’t mean the end of Louie altogether – maybe all C.K. needs to get excited about it again is a little weed?
